Inside Out (DJ Quik Remix)
The first look at the roster on Spoon's "Inside Out" remix may first incite a "WTF" reaction, but once the confusion wears off, excitement arises. Spoon has always excelled in hooks and grooves, so we can't really think of a better person to remix them than West Coast funk-rap mastermind, DJ Quik. On top of that, Quik has assembled a perfect ensemble of talent from the region, tapping frequent collaborator and fellow OG, Kurupt (their Blaqkout album is a modern classic), the #1-in-assists Bay Area workman Iamsu!, and the could-blow-any-minute Boogie.
While there's a lot going on, it's all very elegantly arranged and makes for a pleasant surprise in time for the weekend.
